Learn to make a beautiful Sea Glass necklace using traditional jewellery techniques. This wonderful sea glass jewellery making course allows you to handcraft your bezel setting from scratch. Learning the skill of setting your sea glass, measuring your bezel and base and soldering all your piece together. Please note that sea glass pieces can be no larger than 1.5cm for this class. You will then be able to sand and polish your bezel to a high shine. An excellent class that allows you to dive deep into the world of jewellery making. This workshop includes a 925 sterling silver necklace with an added beaded or smooth loop for detail.
Sea glass is sourced locally by myself or from well sourced locals. Sea glass originates as pieces of glass from broken bottles, broken tableware, or even shipwrecks, which are rolled and tumbled in the ocean for years until all of their edges are rounded off, and the slickness of the glass has been worn to a frosted appearance. Meaning not one piece is the same and each piece is completely unique to you.
You will be working with blue, transparent and green sea glass. You are more than welcome to bring in your own sea glass piece for this advanced class or use one of Ellie's pieces during the workshop.
This Sea Glass Workshop is a perfect way to have your very own unique piece, specially made by you. You will be making a 925 silver ring from scratch, texturing it to your choice. You will then be making your own bezel setting from scratch and soldering your bezel onto the ring and setting your sea glass piece in your bezel. This is a perfect class for those wanting to dive deeper into the world of jewellery making and understanding key skills. Your ring will then be sanded and polished to perfection!
